Overview
To produce a case study video about Tatiana’s tragic, yet powerful and uplifting story for Hospitality Action, the industry charity, Its purpose is for the video to be used within fundraising to demonstrate how the charity supports and helps its people.
Production
Together with Hospitality Action, we met Tatiana at the Surrey clinic, where she had her new prosthetic legs fitted. Her employer, Hawksmoor, helped organise crowdfunding and HA stepped in through the Employee Assistance Programme as well providing further financial assistance. This day was important to get to know Tatiana and for her to feel comfortable working with us. We carried out filming of her being fitted with her new limbs and practising walking, including stairs.
We then filmed an interview with her at her place of work at Hawksmoor, Spitalfields, where she worked as a Restaurant Manager. We also filmed a short interview with her HR manager. This was obviously an emotional experience, and we needed to capture the sensitivity. The closing footage included Tatiana dancing with her teacher.
A crew of three and two cameras were used. In terms of lighting, we used natural daylight and positioned our subjects close to the window to take advantage of the subtle richness it provided.
Editing
We created a couple of versions that were to be used for different purposes, one for general fundraising events and the other for the Employee Assistance Programme.
