We’re fast approaching the finalist stage of National Chef of the Year and Young National Chef of the Year for 2017, organised by the Craft Guild of Chefs. Photography and video have taken place at Sheffield University back in early June. This was then swiftly followed with the semis at Le Cordon Bleu London. This is an incredibly busy day with two kitchens and 4 overall heats. Several hundred frames were taken and all day filming took place of all the kitchen action and various interviews with the finalists. Both disciplines of photography and video production have equal waiting and are used in a multitude of ways from print through to a variety of digital platforms. Videos are to be used in the build-up to the final at The Restuarant Show, on social media. Video will also be used at the NCOTY final. The promo video will effectively become the ‘call to action’ for 2019 entries. Stills are also incorporated into videos, such as introducing all the finalists of both NCOTY and YNCOTY.
The Mentor Day at Unilever was a busy production day with 4 crew members. The various iconic group portraits were taken with some of the judges. Also more video footage this year with interviews with both finalists and judges as well as running through each of the chef’s’ basket of ingredients’.
The editing has been taking place over recent weeks with our in-house editing team. All the stills imagery have been completed and the editing of the raw video footage in time for social media activity and the big day itself. The Finals take place on the 3rd of October. Bring it on . . . NCOTY Final at The Restaurant Show at Olympia.
