‘I was fortunate to photograph Luke around 11 months ago. I really felt the vibe and a connection to his fairly newly acquired/built premises in Sheffield, and of course especially to his food! Restaurant Jöro is made from recycled shipping containers, an urban restaurant, but influenced by nature. His food is based on a Scandinavian come Japanese style, working with local and sustainable ingredients where possible’.
‘The reason behind the photograph was that I wanted to capture his urban and natural feel, with Luke connecting to his surroundings within Sheffield and creating Jöro at the hear of it all. I feel I captured Luke in a contemplative mood, staring out of the window on what was a late winters evening. As a subject he allowed plenty of time which is always helpful’.
